Trinidad and Tobago history is a
very interesting one to say the least. Like many other Caribbean countries
Trinidad and Tobago was colonized by the Spanish, French and English at some
time in its history. Trinidad and Tobago history was skewed when abolition
forced the plantation masters to use indentured laborers from India and China.
The Indian migration had a major effect on the Trinidad and Tobago history and
both African and Indian populations have dominated Trinidad and Tobago history
since that time. Trinidad and Tobago history was brightened with independence in
1962 and the formation of a republic in 1976.
