Cassava Used To Make Trinidad Pone Recipe

This is one of the most popular Trinidadian dishes. Served in five star hotels and on the roadside the Trinidad Pone Recipe has become extremely popular and many people across the Caribbean prepare it, sometimes daily.

Ingredients

2 cups of cassava grated

1 cup of fresh coconut grated without sweeteners

1 cup white granulated sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon powder

4 tablespoons of butter or margarine melted

½ cup of evaporated milk

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions

In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Transfer to a greased 8 inch square baking dish in a 350 degree F over until brown and firm to the touch. Cut into small squares and serve.
